Ida Maria- Keep Me Warm
Rarely do songs inspire change especially when it comes to addictions. Ida Maria's song "Keep Me Warm" is about putting down the bottle and really evaluating why you're drinking.
Drinking to forget about someone, smoking ciggarettes and drinking coffee to forget about drinking. The game of forgetfullness can run you ragged.
Metric "Gimme Sympathy"-Acoustic LOVE
Metric is well known for opening for the monster of a band Muse (which I have shamelessly seen in concert twice). What is particularly spectacular about this band is they are creative and "weird"but without having to dress up their lead singer like a barbie doll (cue any female artist). They are sincerly talented and don't have to wear costumes to prove it.
Acoustic LOVE: Each week prepare to have you mind blown by an acoustic rendetion of a song you may or may not know.

Aries November Love-Scope
Orginal Version
November 2 is especially sensual as Neptune, the planet of rose-colored glasses, clouds your perception and doesn't let up all month. The November 10 Full Moon could find you and your partner a bit more possessive about one another than usual. It will be hard not to want to sequester yourselves away on November 25 and indulge in a day (or night) of hot romance. The month goes out like a lion as retrograde Mercury and a Solar Eclipse (November 25) fall in the house of "let's make this legal." The two of you may plan a journey to do just that.
My Version
On November 2 you are so Getting Jiggy With It! Girl, it is going to be awesome let me tell you, and the awesome-ness will not let up all month. On November 10 you are going to Go Crazy In Love. This will lead to the realization that this might be the real deal. You have to protect your man from surrounding skanks. On November 25 you are going to Get Low and have some sweet sweet romance, wine, aspargus, the whole sha-bang. HOLY SHIT, he might even want to Marry You. In all the excitement you will start to make future plans and it is gonna be slammin!

The Drums- "Let's Go Surfing"
Remniscent of 80's punk (think The Dead Milkmen) The Drums stir up the indie pot and spike the mix with the jingle jangle of beach infused laziness, a mind numbingly catchy chorus, and an upbeat attitude with this track. Lead Singer Jonathan Pierce said in an interview, "We got really inspired by those girl group sounds of the fifties and sixties...I think the more you can simplify something, the stronger it gets and the more true the message is." 'Lets Go Surfing' is the perfect example of this with lyrics "Oh Mama/I wanna go surfing/Oh mama/I don't care about nothing."

The Wavves "No Hope Kids"
Taking your life putting it in a little jar and looking at it from the outside might have allowed these punk rockers to realize, "Got no car/Got no money...Got no God/Got no girlfriend."
The song is a puddle of distoration caked with a dry voice. The lyrics speak to the unhappy truth people are always faced with, doubt.

EMOtional - Tegan and Sara "Call It Off"
Tegan and Sara, two sisters from Canada, have differing vocals that meld perfectly together. 2008's Call It Off is no exception to T&S unusal singing bantor dripping with melancholy. The lyrics portray lost love and the interal battles that fill someones mind and heart after calling something off. Like any decision you won't regret or doubt it until you've made it, "Maybe I would have been/Something you'd be good at/Maybe you would have been/Something I'd be good at/But now we'll never know"
Now these two 30-year-old musicians are working on promoting there new release which is a live album that includes 3 films entitled Get Along.

Footloose
Footloose circa 2011 is a boot scooting boogey version of the 1984 original striking a nostalgic chord with folks from Australia to North America grossing 16.1 million in its opening weekend alone. Most reviews complain that the remake stays too close to the story line but honestly it would have definitely been criticized more for veering too far from the roots of the production.
Main characters Ariel (Julianne Hough) and Boston native Ren McCormack (Kenny Wormald) meet in the fictional podunk town of Bomont where public displays of dance by minors are prohibited and school dances are ran through the towns church. With Ariel as the preacher’s daughter and McCormack as the wise ass dancing mechanic let the rebelling and late night encounters ensue.
The music that surrounds the film is far from lacking. Blake Shelton does his smooth country rendition of the classic “Footloose” track and Jana Kramer cranks out the well known and loved “Let’s Hear It For The Boy.” Ceelo Green comes in for a pure bluesy ballad “Walkin’ Blues,” while “Almost Paradise” offers a sweet laid back harmonizing tune by Victoria Justice and Hunter Hayes. The 12 track album makes you feel like you are in the small town of Bomont fighting to have a good time with tunes that make you want to grab a pair of boots and hit the dance floor.
